Memphis Bound

Tonight myself and one of my buddies is heading to Memphis for the weekend. We are going to visit a buddy of ours who we went to high school with. This is usually a trip we make 2-3 times a year and he comes over about the same. It is just fun to get away and spend some quality time with your close friends. I might have pictures of some of our outings when I return!!!!

Only 2 school days next week! Thanksgiving is getting close!!!!!

Top 10 Truths

I received this in an e-mail the other day and really liked it. A lot has been made about our new president elect but the thing is, he was elected in God's plan. I believe President-elect Obama was the man God wanted right now.

Here are the Top 10 Truths that don't change, no matter who the president is.

10. The Bible will still have all the answers. Proverbs 30:5

9. Prayer will still work. Psalm 50:15

8. The Holy Spirit will still move. Ephesians 6:18

7. God will still inhabit the praises of His people. Psalm 9:1

6. There will still be God-Anointed preaching. II Timothy 4:2

5. There will still be singing praises to God.

4. God will still pour out blessings on His people. Ezekiel 34:26

3. There will still be room at the cross. Matthew 16:24

2. Jesus will still love you. Romans 8:39

1. Jesus will still save the lost when they come to Him. John 3:16

Election Results

So today is a historic day in America as we have our first African-AMerican President.  Congratulations to him and his supporters.

I voted for McCain, plain and simple. I believed he was the best out of the two options. I felt though whoever the Democrats ran for president, would win because everyone is so unhappy with Bush.

I am worried about the future because I am not sure who Obama is. Is he the man he says he is or will he go back to his Muslim roots? Will he take our guns? Will he permit babies being killed? Will he take money from the hard workers to give to the lazy people? Who knows? Only time will tell.

However, the Lord is still the King of Kings and he is still in charge. I pray for our new leader and I pray that America will turn to the Lord for guidance. The Lord is good all the time and all the time the Lord is good!

Please unite America behind our new President because we do not need more division. We need a united country to move ahead so that when I am 65, I can retire and play golf all day!!!

Cleaning out the fridge

So I decided to clean out the refrigerator today!!! Wow what a job that is. I found stuff that expired over a year ago. In case you don't know, I live with 2 other guys so a nasty fridge is to be expected. But man, was that a chore today! It took over an hour to clean out food and wipe down the entire thing (and the fridge).

It is amazing how much junk one can accumulate in their fridge or even in their life. If you only clean it out once a year, your soul (or fridge) can take some time to clean it up. As a Christian, I know I need to make sure to keep my body and mind clean daily and not to let things build up. Or it will be a tough chore to clean out the fridge.

Fantasy Football and World Series

I won my first game in Fantasy Football this year. I am so excited!!!! I am now 1-6, not great but making a come back.

HOW ABOUT THEM RAYS???? I am so excited for this team. From worst to the World Series, this is a remarkable turnaround. Their team is lead by a magnificient manager who has a great baseball mind. I read an article about him the other day in Sports Illustrated and he is a real intriguing person. You should check him out sometime.

Election 08

I love this time of the year: cooler weather, football and volleyball season, and election time. I love the political races and one day, I hope to hold a political office, whatever that may be. I am a supporter of McCain because I believe he is the best option of the 2. Here is an interesting article that I thought I would share.

Imagine Obama as President....

We are a few weeks away from the elections and as of today, the poll numbers indicate we have our work cut out for us. Americans are angry. VERY ANGRY. The recent bailout controversy has only stirred the seething rage that is bubbling up among taxpayers.

The sad thing about voter anger is that it's misdirected. While there is plenty of blame and fault to go around for both parties, there really is hard evidence that John McCain tried in vain to get attention focused on the totally absurd lending practices of Fannie May and Freddie Mac that are at the heart of the meltdown. Barack Obama is the second highest recipient of political cash from the big bosses of the entities, and one of his economic advisors Franklin Raines took over $90 million in bonuses from Fannie May. That's right- $90 MILLION. Do you really think that Barack Obama will lead "reform" of a system that his advisors have helped create?

His radical views of when life begins and his priority of protecting abortion rights over the right to life for the unborn are beyond most of even the most extreme leftists. His work with ACORN, a radical political organization is especially noteworthy in light of the fact that ACORN received over $760 million in "fees" from banks to help push people into "N.I.N.J.A. loans." (These are loans made to people with No Income, No Job, and No Assests, thus NINJA loans.)

Imagine Obama as President and Democrats holding majorities in the House and with a possible 60 vote margin Senate.

Goodbye, 2nd Amendment Rights.

Goodbye, protection for the unborn.

Goodbye, tax breaks.

Goodbye, diligence against state sponsored terrorism from rouge governments like Iran, North Korea, and others.

Goodbye, parental rights as a fundamental right to not be supplanted by the government.

Goodbye, holding traditional marriage as one man, one woman for life.

I'm not ready to accept that.

I want you to join me in the final days to push for Republican candidates, starting with John McCain and Sarah Palin, down to those running for state legislature to stand for something. Stand for life, for marriage, for the Fair Tax, for our 2nd Amendment rights, Fight for the pre-eminent role of mothers and fathers in raising their children, for lower taxes, for controls on government spending, and demand an end to the disgusting corruption of Washington that led to this massive economic meltdown.

Email or call your friends and family. Share with them what is at stake. Make a contribution to a favorite candidate or support my PAC with a contribution. Volunteer locally.

The stakes are real. The threat to our families are growing.

Fighting to the end,
Mike Huckabee

***A very interesting article! Of course, this is from a Republican viewpoint, but one I agree with and I hope everyone else will agree. More importantly, just go out and vote!!!

I AM BACK!!!

I took a break from the bl0gging world but I am back and committed to staying this time. Its tough to find time to do this but I am going to make time now.

Volleyball season is 2 weeks from being over and I feel like we are having a solid year. It looks like we are going to miss the playoffs but right now we have 9 wins. The last two years combined, the program has won 5 games so I am pleased with our wins. The girls have been great and have been getting better, so it has been a successful year.

School is going well and classes are great.

Hope to post later this week!

New Opportunity!

In the coaching world, things can change day to day and year to year. This is expected in this profession. Duties, responsibilities, athletes, and even assignments change. Well this is my second year of coaching in Fort Smith and I have had pretty much the same coaching responsibilites. Well next year is going to be a different year for me. My teaching will take me out of the gym and into the classroom. Insted of my 6 pe classes, like I have this year, I will have 3 health classes. I am very excited about this new schedule. I am not going to go into detail about my coaching responsibilites except I am going to move into a head coaching role and I will be taking a paid baseball assistant job. I am also very excited about this as well. Baseball is my passion and I am going to become part of a very solid program. I am also excited about being the head coach of a program. This is an awesome career move for me and I am excited about the opportunities God has given me.

Banquet

Tonight I was able to emcee a banquet at our church for all of the widows at our church. It is an annual event that the deacons put on for all of the special ladies in our church. It was a great evening with great food, music, and fellowship. We were able to spend time with other church members which included deacons, deacon wives, and the widows. The event was entirely focused on making sure these women feel special and I was blessed to be a part of it.

Basketball: My 8th graders lost Monday night which makes them 11-2 on the season. I am blessed to be able to coach a great bunch of talented girls. Our varsity team is now 13-0 in conference. On Monday night, we played Alma and was down by 17 points midway through the 3rd quarter. WE CAME BACK AND WON!!!! It was the most exciting comeback I have been apart of and I was so excited to see our girls compete. Their is an old saying that coaching is easy when you have talent and this is true. We have a great group of girls from 9th grade all the way down to 7th. We are first in conference with 3 games left and have an excellent shot of winning conference and really winning some ballgames in the regional tournament. I will keep you updated.

Day Off!!!!!

Well I took the day off from school today for several reasons: a dear friend of my family from church passed away and I went to his funeral. It was a very pleasant service for a great man who was devoted to his family.

I spent the rest of the day relaxing. I am headed to the Razorbacks game tonight vs Mississippi State. It should be a great time.

Everyone needs time to just step back and relax!

I AM BACK!!!!

Ok, so I have been away from the blogging for awhile butI am back and I am going to be consistent. So work has been consuming my life. I still make time for my spiritual walk, family, church, and some me time.

Basketball:
We we are undefeated in conference with our varsity girls. We have been playing well as of late and it is exciting to be in first place. Also, my 8th grade team is undefeated as well. We are blessed with some girls that are very talented, hard workers, and committed to basketball. I will keep you updated on the rest of the season. We have about 6 games left plus regional tournament.

Baseball:
Well I am helping out with Northside baseball this year and I am excited. We have been practicing and I am able to help out when my basketball schedule will let me. I look forward to the baseball season but I am not ready for basketball to be over.

On a personal note, life is all about relationships and how you treat people. I have come to realize this and how important it is with some people I have encountered this year. I have always tried to build relationships with people I encounter whether it be co-workers, students, athletes, parents, or etc.... Its all about relationships and how you treat people.

Final note: The Presidential Primaries are heating up and I am fired up. I love politics. I am a big republican but both races have intrigued me this year. Obama vs Clinton, Huckabee vs McCain, Romney,etc... I am personally rooting for Huckabee!!!

Leave me a comment and let me know you read this! I want to know if anyone cares?????
